Project Produce

Project Produce at the Princeton Elks is a donation-based project providing fresh produce and fruit to residents with food insecurities at no cost to them during the Covid-19 pandemic.  Most local Food Pantry's do not provide fresh produce, fruit, or eggs which are important ingredients to feed the brain, not just the body.  The foods most commonly donated are; pasta, rice, beans, soups, cereals, peanut butter, and jelly.  What about other items to take care of the body such as feminine hygiene products, first aid items, soaps, shampoo, razors, deodorants, laundry detergent and so much more?  This is where the Elk Pantry has stepped up the game and provides these items also.

The Elks Project Produce started in mid-2020 due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, with the shortage of jobs the unemployment rate, and sickness was at their greatest high in over 50 years, we saw the need to help.  During the year we were able to donate over $10,000.00 worth of food and items to 5 different Food Pantry's, warm clothing and winter coats for over 100 people, financial help to pay electric/gas bills, water bills, car repairs for several families.

Our Princeton Elks Charitable Trust is a non-profit organization and your donations are all tax-deductible, please help up help others.

Thanksgiving Hot Holiday

On November 20, 2020 our Lodge Treasurer Ellen Robbins realized that she had not seen any fundraiser for the Thanksgiving Holiday to help local families in need of a meal or food in general. She reached out via social media and was able to organize not just a Hot Holiday meal for 20 families, but for them to have fresh produce, fruit, and food for their families for the next 4 days.

Christmas 2020

Elks Christmas give back to the community.

December 2020 the Lodge was able to supply a holiday meal with all the fixings plus a week’s worth of groceries for 21 local families in need, our community was so supportive with their donations we were able to have gifts for all the children.

Food Drive with Montgomery EMS

How 2 local non-profits team up to stock the Princeton Elks Fresh Food Pantry for the many families in need during the Covid-19 Pandemic. With the joint efforts of the Montgomery Emergency Medical Services and Princeton Elks, they staged a Donation Drive at the Montgomery Shoprite for more than the non-perishable items generally found at any Food Pantry. Huge signs and pictures were made with lists for "wished " donated items that could be now available at the local Food Pantry.

“I Support The Girls”

Princeton Elks Lodge #2129 over the last 2 years has been a supporter for “I Support The Girls" a national organization that never forgets about Women's Hygiene. During the pandemic year, so many women went without, therefore another idea of how the Elks can help. We had members raise funds, purchase feminine products, and prepackage over 200 individual Period Packs to be distributed throughout the state of New Jersey.

All the items shown in the pictures are donated by the generous community, plus "thank you" to our volunteers who spent the hours standing outside our local Shoprite braving the cold temperatures, snow, and rain for the dedication to helping families in need.  The pictures show that we look like a grocery store, but we are a dedicated organization that helps the community.
